Louis Armstrong, “What a wonderful world”.
I’ve always loved this song since the first time I ever heard it. It came on a 3 track cassette tape from the dealership my dad bought his truck at. It was an early 90’s model Ford Ranger. I remember being very young and taken aback by the melody and lyrics. The rhythm draws you into the words of wisdom. My favorite line in the whole song is “I see babies crying; I watch them grow; And they’ll learn much more, than I’ll ever know.” To me that line reflects our culture. It reflects what we want so badly for the future. With every generation we want advancement and innovation. We want to give the next generation a solid foundation, having them pick up the torch to move forward. We want our descendants to have better lives than we live. We hope that by instilling in them our values, a little part of us will withstand time and live on forever.
So I ask, if you like, to reply below and answer the question above. I want to know: what song is your anthem, and why?
