It seems like every time you turn on the news there is a new disease, disorder, or disability out there. I remember when I was in junior high a friend of mine checked out a book about phobias. It was a good read worth a few laughs. Here are some I can remember:
Agoraphobia- fear to leave your home * taking off your pajamas *wink*
Consecotaleophobia- Fear of Chop Sticks *Those Asians do it again*
Epistemophobia- fear of knowledge *I know so many people that suffer from that one*
But all joking aside it’s sad that our culture focuses on our scarlet letters. The labels we’re given to distinguish us as different hurt the soul. It’s as if that bully back in 4th grade who called you four eyes followed you into adult hood and is still introducing you as “four eyes” to people. The idea that you are a label versus the idea that you have a label is where you get in trouble. When people start defining themselves by their differences they set themselves up for failure. Believe it or not, words have power. God created the heavens and earth with nothing but words and people do the same thing to create the worlds they live in. As my brother would say: “perception is reality”. So I would like to take this time to ask you what your ability is. I’ll go first, I’m Kashlynne and I write well *I think :/ *. Now it’s your turn. I want you all to think about your ability and know that you are special in the eyes of God.
